She was an accomplished teacher and received many awards as teacher of the year. She was employed at DISD for 34 years. She was a distinguished member of many associations. She accepted Christ at an early age at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ennis, Texas. She later united with Greater New Zion Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas under the leadership of the late Rev. A.V. Voice and continued her service with Rev. Joe S. Patterson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jasper & Izora Riptoe. She leaves to cherish her memories: a loving husband of 58 years, Cleodoist McDade, a loving devoted sister, Bettye Vinson of Dallas; 1 brother-in-law, Billie Earl McDade; 3 sister-in-laws, Jimmie Jordan, Annie Edger and Shirley Malone and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She attended schools in Forreston and Waxahachie until she met her husband of 31 years Blaine Rudd. Linda was a longtime member of the VFW in Ennis, she worked for Walmart in Ennis for over twenty years, and she loved participating in the Ellis County Relay For Life every year. She had a lot of friends and was always quick to help others, she will be dearly missed by her family and everyone who knew her and loved her. He grew up in the Byrd-Rankin area and attended Rice schools. On October 17, 1936 he married Aurora Munoz. They made their home in Byrd-Rankin until moving to Ennis in 1956. He worked as a Farm Hand for Pete Noal and as a Welder for Verson Manufacturing from 1958 to 1982. He was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Ennis. In his spare time, Ygnacio loved gardening. Ygnacio is survived by four sons: Jesse Martinez, and his wife Mary, of Ennis, Ralph Martinez of Ennis, Johnny Martinez, and his wife Lupe, of Carrollton, Texas, and Robert “Masu” Martinez, of Ennis; four daughters: Charlene Ortiz, of Ennis, Beatrice Ortiz, of San Antonio, Elvira Martinez, of Ennis, and Gloria Martinez, of Ennis; two sisters: Ernestine Santos, of Ennis and Caroline Robles, of Grand Prairie, Texas; 23 grandchildren, 53 great – grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. Clik here to view.Bernard Joseph Betik passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2013 in Dallas Texas. He was born on March 19, 1938 in Creechville Texas to Joe and Frances Marusak Betik. Yogi attended St. John High school, graduating in 1957 where he enjoyed playing baseball and acquired the nick name “Yogi” after baseball great “Yogi” Berra. He married Nancy Kuchar on August 22, 1959 and made their home in Dallas, Texas. In 1965 they returned to Ennis and raised their six boys. In 1957, Yogi gained employment with Storebeck & Gregory as an apprentice in the Wood and Wire Metal Lathers Union Local 140. He proudly served as Local 140 President from 1962-1964. He was foreman on several large commercial projects such as the First Republic Bank Building and LBJ Library in Austin. Yogi worked briefly with his brother Wesley as a framer before starting his own company as a residential framing contractor which he continued until his retirement. Bernard was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and KJT. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, and 6 sons, Steven and wife Suzie, Patrick, John and wife Cindy, Andrew, Henry and wife J’Layna, Damon and wife Carla, grandchildren, Laurie Butler and husband Blake, Corey, Chris, Brittany, Aviana , Maya, Bailey, Ben, Blair, Brooke, Colleen and Caroline and one great granddaughter Anniston Butler. He is also survived by 3 brothers, Joe, Wesley and Bob Betik, sisters; Lillie Crowley, Mary Trojacek, Mildred Trojacek, Ella Heard and Evelyn Slovak and numerous family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents and one sister, Helen Barrett. Yogi thoroughly enjoyed his life’s work as a framing contractor, visiting with friends and family, tinkering in his garden and traveling to the Czech Republic, and most recently celebrating his 50th wedding anniversary with his wife Nancy and his children and grandchildren on a Hawaiian Cruise. Serving as Pallbearers are Corey Betik, Chris Betik, Ben Betik, Blake Butler, Kevin Betik and Nathan Wensowitch. Honorary pallbearers are David Yancey, Eric Wenger, Bill Flaraty and Dr. Stuart Peak. Wayne Ray Lee, Sr. passed away peacefully from this world on May 15, 2013. He was 80 years old. Born in Cryer Creek, Texas on December 28, 1932, Wayne was the oldest child of Benjamin Jefferson Lee and Wilmer Farrish Lee. He had two brothers: Derl Edward Lee, who preceded him in death, and Clayton Leon Lee of Ennis who survives him. He was a Dad of 5 and “PawPaw” to numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Daughters, son and spouses include: Nancy and Jerry Hall of Cedar Hill, Kathy Hugues of Scurry, Cindy and Benson Fowler of Rowlett, Buddy and Toni Lee of Scurry and Nicole and Russell Mack of Waxahachie. He was born to the late R.C. and Doris Stokey Phillips on August 11, 1951 in Waxahachie. He was an avid hunter and loved to fish, he owned and operated a fishing guide service for the last ten years. He developed Fishmaster Crappie Jigs and had distribution in twelve states. Jimmy was a black belt in karate, a semi-pro bowler and a Senior Grand Master of disc golf. Over the years Jimmy wore many hats, he was at one time a disc jockey for KBEC radio in Waxahachie, he also worked for TV and radio stations in Vicksburg , Mississippi and in Clifton , Texas. He was a draftsman for Southern Pacific Railroad, and worked for Texas Instruments for several years in the research and development department for the missile guidance systems. He owned and operated Phillips Construction & Remodeling for 20 years. Jimmy will be dearly missed by his family and everyone who knew him and loved him.
He is survived by wife Cheryl Phillips of Arlington, Texas; 2 Daughters: Brandy Phillips of New York, NY and Robyn & Earl Vrabel of Fort Riley, Kansas 3 Brothers: John and Carla Phillips of Waxahachie; Ronnie & Sandy Phillips of Garland, Texas and Dick Phillips of Dallas, Texas; 1 Sister: Karen Brabham of Waxahachie, Texas; 5 Grandchildren: Kel’lee and Sarah Chancey, Keara St. John, Sydney and Khloe Vrabel.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents: R.C. and Doris Phillips and one daughter Misty Henson.

He was born on September 20, 1929 to Braulio and Leonora (Martinez) Garcia in Skidmore, Texas. He was one of the oldest members of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of the Chicano’s Voters League in the 70’s and with LULAC and volunteered with the Golden Circle. Jimmy will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. He was a chef and owner of Jimmy’s Café in 1969. He enjoyed making friends everywhere he went especially at the local dance halls. He knew no strangers. He worked for Ennis Automotive for over thirty years. He is survived by five daughters; Hilda and Peter Botello of Palmer, Adela and Ben Fira, Amanda Alvarez and Bobby Fowler, Viola and Danny Ortega all of Ennis, Jeanette Moreno and Homer McDonald of Corsicana: three sons; Jimmy and Angie Garcia, Jr., Jerry Garcia and Joel Garcia of Ennis: twenty six-grandchildren: fifty great-grandchildren and twenty-four great-great-grandchildren. She was the oldest of nine children and played a big part in the lives of her brothers and sisters. She grew up in Bardwell and graduated from Bardwell High School in 1941. On April 4, 1942 she married Walter Nolan Young and they made their home in Ennis. In 1978 they moved to Chatham, Virginia and lived there until 1986 when they returned to Ennis. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Ennis where she taught Sunday School in the 4 & 5 year olds. She is a member of the Baylor Baptist Church, a member the Martha Sunday School Class, Rebekka’s Lodge of Ennis. She loved hosting her family to dinners and get togethers. She shared her Christian values with her children and grandchildren, she loved her family. She is survived by one son, Nolan ElVoyde Young and his wife, Linda; daughter, Juanette and her husband, George Beggs; four grandchildren: Bradley Young, Bryce Young and his wife, Cortney, Andrea Beggs and Lacey Beggs; two great-grandchildren: Rylie Robertson and Harlie Robertson; one brother, Donald Woodard and his wife, Mary; two sisters: Charlene Hollowell and Jackie Laverne and her husband, Larry Oliver along with friends. J.T. Goodnight, 86, of Amarillo died Monday, May 27, 2013. Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. today in Chapel of First Baptist Church with Dr. Howard K. Batson officiating. Arrangements are by Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. J.T. was born June 14, 1927 in Swartz, La., to Horace and Robbie Goodnight. He was raised in Dumas where he was a graduate of Dumas High School. He served his country in the Navy in World War II. After his military service, he married Yvonne Painter on Nov. 27, 1947, in Sunray. They moved to Amarillo in 1949 and he attended West Texas State University. He owned and operated Y&J Transfer in Amarillo for more than 40 years until his retirement in 1989. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling all over the world with his wife. He loved playing golf and spending time with his friends. He loved his Lord, family and his church with all of his heart. Most of all, he loved spending time being Granddad to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a member of First Baptist Church for 50 years where served as a deacon. His family are following his wishes and donating his body to Texas Tech Medical School for research. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Judah; and a sister, Billie Jean. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne of Amarillo; a son, Scott Goodnight and wife Jackie of Amarillo; three daughters, Marsha Chapman and husband Ken of Ennis, Debbie Portwood and her life partner Greg Moore of Castle Pines, Colo., and Becky Fowler of DeSoto; a sister, Hilda Hinds of Midland; grandchildren, Melissa, Amy, Brent, Mandy, Elizabeth, Jake and James; eight great-grandchildren, Maddie, Gabe, Mercy, Jackson, Jude, Zoe, Lucy and Emmy.
