The world is darker and Heaven is brighter because Emma “Janet” Osborn, a beloved wife, mom, nanna, friend to all who knew her and “Chicken” to her caregivers at Pleasant Manor Nursing Facility, went to Heaven to be with her best friend and Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, October 19, 2015, at the age of 83.
Janet was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas, on November 11, 1931, to Waynard and Faye Barnes. She was raised in Ennis, Texas, and graduated High School there in 1949. She married Raymond Keith Osborn on August 7, 1951, and they moved to Waxahachie in 1961 where she lived the rest of her life. They had two daughters, Donna and Debbie.
She was a faithful member of Ferris Avenue Baptist Church for 44 years. She served and loved the Lord with all of her heart, mind and soul all of her life. She told everyone she met about Jesus. Janet was exactly the kind of mate, mother, nanna and friend that every person on earth prays they will be blessed with. She was loved by everyone she ever met. She will be missed more than words can express, but her family takes extreme comfort in the certain knowledge that she is now with her beloved Savior and her family and friends that got there before her.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Wilson and her husband Steve, Debbie Jarvis and her husband John, all of Waxahachie; also by three granddaughters, Melissa Spitzer and her husband Clayt, April Crabtree and her husband Jason, both from Waxahachie, and Brianne Jarvis of Denton; also by her grandson, Walker Jarvis of Waxahachie; four great grandchildren, Peyton and Piper Crabtree and Cole and Max Spitzer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Waynard and Faye Barnes; her sister, Bobbie Faye Barnes and her husband, Raymond Osborn.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at Wayne Boze Funeral Home.
A graveside service has been scheduled for 10 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2015, at the Myrtle Cemetery, Ennis, Texas with Bro. Richard Smith officiating.
