Jimmy Dwayne Nutt, Sr., 73, passed away in Ennis, Texas, on Saturday, May 30, 2015.
Jimmy was born in Marlin, Texas, on Dec. 23, 1941, to James Marion and Wilma Dean (Underwood) Nutt. He grew up in Marlin, and graduated from Marlin High School in 1960. On Dec. 26, 1960, he married Evelina Cobb and they made their home in Marlin, and then lived in Houston, before moving to Ennis in 1969.
He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for over thirty years, and was a member of Baylor Baptist Church of Ennis. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed nothing more than being in the stands at his granddaughters’ various sporting events.
He will be remembered by all who knew him and his memory will be cherished most by his family including, sons: Jimmy Dwayne Nutt, Jr. and wife Rhonda, Nelson Perry Nutt, Sr., and Richard Andre’ Nutt and wife Laura; six grandchildren: Perry Nutt, Hana Nutt, Joshua Nutt, Landry Nutt, Ryan Nutt, and Brandon Nutt; great-granddaughter Avery Nutt; two brothers: Garry Nutt and wife Kathy, and Ronnie Nutt and wife Javone; two sisters: Janie Wellman and husband James, and Rhonda Johnson and husband Richard; and a host of other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelina Nutt; and son, Guy Shannon Nutt.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 6, from 5 until 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of his life will take place on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m. in the Adams Funeral Home, in Marlin, Texas, with interment to follow in Blue Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jimmy’s name at Bank of America, for Ennis Youth Sports.
