Ben Eric Fira

Ben Eric Fira, 57, passed away in Dallas, Texas on Sunday, May 31, 2015
Ben was born in Sinton, Texas on July 14, 1957 to Benito and Maria (Arroyo) Fira. He grew up in Ennis, Texas and graduated from Ennis High School in 1976. In July of 1987 he married Jane Utes and they made their home in Dallas before moving to Garland in the early 1990’s.
He worked from the Southern Pacific Rail Road in track maintenance, for Bank of America in computer operations and for MacAfee Security in the facilities security. He was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis. He enjoyed running in 5K and 10K’s for charities along with a passion for Art and art history. He was an avid Ennis Lions and Dallas Cowboy fan.
He will be remembered by all who knew him but his memory will be cherished most by his family including his wife, Jane Utes-Fira; son, Jason Fira; his father, Benito Fira and wife, Adela; his mother, Maria Fira; brothers: Carl Fira, Harry Fira, Sal Fira; sisters: Cynthia Miles, Lisa Leon and Mary Bombala; step-brothers: Rodney Rios and Bobby Rios; step-sisters: Barbie Campos, Nicole Rios and Renee Rios along with countless other friends and family.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 3, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
A Celebration of his life will take place on Thursday, June 4, at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Tommy Murrillo officiating.
