Richard Ray Beasley

Richard Ray Beasley age 62 passed away Friday, October 17, 2014 in Berwick, PA.

He was born in Dallas, TX on September 18, 1952 to Samuel Ogden Beasley and Virginia Pauline Cansler. Richard graduated from Ennis High School and then enlisted in the United States Navy. He served six years in the Nuclear Submarine Program stationed at Pearl Harbor, HA. After military duties, Richard returned to Dallas and worked various jobs while he went to college and received his degree in Applied Arts & Science. He worked in various capacities of the design industry for years. He moved close to his family in Emory, TX and in 2005 he purchased his own 18 wheeler and refrigerator trailer. He took to the road on long hauls and with his CB radio he visited with every truck driver up and down the interstate across the US. His favorite part of the country he found was the northeast. In 2009 he moved to Berwick, PA and resided there until his death.

Richard had a brilliant mind and had many talents. His favorite was interior design and space planning along with designing and making furniture. He was full of life. He never meant a stranger and he lite up ever room that he walked through. He enjoyed travelling, cooking and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his mother, Virginia Simmons, sister Linda Rudd and brother-in-law Rusty Rudd, nieces and nephews, Chris Macon, Cody Rudd, Dustin Rudd, Russell Rudd and Tammi Macon. Richard is preceded in death by his father Samuel Ogden Beasley and both sets of his grandparents.

Visitation will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014 in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
