Joy Lynn Moore, age 61, went to her heavenly home on October 29, 2014.  She died peacefully at Baylor Hospital in Dallas with family and friends at her side.  She was born in Midland, Texas on April 9, 1953 to John Patrick and Janie (Zaidle) Murphy.  Joy was the youngest of six children.  She attended Ennis Schools and graduated in 1974.  She was married to Chuck Moore in 1978.

Joy’s perseverance and fortitude allowed her to battle cancer for over two years.  She remained strong, having faith and hope until the very end and then wanted to go to her heavenly home. She was an inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.  Joy’s unselfish love will long be remembered by her children as well as her siblings, nieces and nephews.

Joy worked at several jobs during her lifetime.  She always did some type of hands on work using her strength and vitality.  Early on in her career she was employed for several years at Ennis Business Forms.  She operated a machine.  Later, she worked at Walgreens warehouse doing picking as goods came by on conveyor belt.  Then she went to PetSmart and handled heavy materials on a daily basis.  Then at Sterilite she was again in the warehouse doing heavy work.  Her job she had prior to being diagnosed with cancer was at Mid-Tex in Midlothian.  She was employed there for almost 10 years.  Working outdoors each and every day, hot or freezing, she very seldom missed work unless the road conditions prevented her from driving.  She was such a loyal, dedicated employee.  Her co-workers were inspired by her enthusiasm as well as her courageous fight to survive.

Joy had a passion for animals, especially cats.  She enjoyed listening to music, especially Gospel Hymns, Czech music and Country Classic.  But her greatest love was for her children, grandchildren, brothers, sister and all her nieces and nephews.

Joy was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Ennis and was faithful until her health prevented her from attending services.

Joy is survived by two daughters; Kelly Renea Black and Jacklyn Josephine Hooten.  She is also survived by one grandson, Bryan Norton and wife Haley, two granddaughters, Shannon Renea Norton and Tori Lynn Lindley and one great grand-son, Tate Elliot Norton.  She is also survived by one sister, Patricia Yelsma and one brother, Rex Murphy.  She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as her special cat, Doby.

Joy is preceded in death by her husband, her parents and three brothers: Tommy, Billy and Jimmy Murphy.

Visitation will be held at J. E. Keever Mortuary Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.  Funeral services will be at Bible Baptist Church Monday, November 3, 2014 at 2 p.m. with Bro. Dennis Webster officiating.  Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.  Honorary pallbearer will be grandson, Bryan Norton.  Other Pallbearers will be nephews; Jeffrey Coulston, Todd Coulston, Dustin Murphy, Craig Gazelle and cousin, Junior Evans.
