Dionicio Lopez age 76, passed away in Ennis, TX on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. He was born in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato in Mexico on October 2, 1938 to Manuel Lopez and Severina Garcia. On November 1957, he married Maria Virginia Avila and moved to Ennis in August of 1979. Dionicio worked at Leggett and Platt and the City of Ennis for a number of years before retiring from J&G Concrete. He enjoyed singing in the St. Joseph Epiphany Parish Church in Italy, Texas. He loved spending time with his family. Dionicio enjoyed the loud noises his grandchildren would make. He always helped those in need and thought of others before himself.
He is survived by his parents, Manuel Lopez and Severina Garcia; wife, Maria Virginia Lopez; sons, Gonzalo and Benjamin Lopez, Rogelio Lopez and his wife Maria; daughters, Melida Lopez and her husband Martin Guido, Maria Yolanda Lopez and her husband Jacob Reyna, Mariebell Benavidez and her husband Rene Benavidez, Anna Louisa Padilla and her husband Jose Fermin Padilla and Maria Beatris Colin and her husband Jose Colin; numerous grandchildren, Selene Guido, Martin Guido, Jr., Vanessa Guido, and Yazmin Guido, Maricela Lopez, Marco Lopez, Rogelio Lopez, Jr., Jose Barcenas, Victor Barcenas, Ricardo Barcenas, Jennifer Barcenas, Rene Benavidez, Jr., Vince Benavidez, Cristian Benavidez, Emilie Benavidez, Jose Fermin Padilla, Jr., Domanique Padilla, Estevan Leos, Esperanza Leos, and Ximena Colin; three great grandchildren, Adrian Garza, Carmelo Butler and Malia Jizelle Barcenas. Brothers; Bernave Lopez and Manuel Lopez of Ennis; sisters, Rufina Alvarado of Ennis, Guadalupe Lopez, Belen Lopez, Amada Lopez and Manuela Lopez of Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato; many nieces and nephews of Ennis and Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato.
Dionicio is preceded in death by his sons, Cerafin Lopez, Cerafin Lopez, and Heriberto Lopez; daughters, Linda Lopez and Linda Lopez; sister, Nicolasa Lopez and brother, Delfino Lopez.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. with a Rosary at 7 P.M. on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 25 2014, at Saint John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father Antonio Ormaza as Celebrant. Pallbearers are Rene Benavidez, Jacob Reyna, Jose Colin, Martin Guido, Victor Barcenas, and Jose Alvarado. Honorary Pallbearers are Martin Guido, Jr. and Jose Barcenas. Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Ennis.
