Mary Lee Kubala, 87, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Tuesday, May 27, 2014.
Mary was born in Byrd-Rankin to Harvey Lee and Martha Lucile (Armstrong) Parker. She grew up in the Byrd-Rankin area and graduated from Ennis High School. On August 30, 1945 she married L.L. Kubala and they made their home in several different cities before moving to Ennis in 1962.
She worked for W.R. Storey’s Manufacturing for many years before retiring in 1986. She loved to sew and was an excellent seamstress. She loved her family and enjoyed being with them.
She is survived by one son, Chuck Kubala and his wife, Patsy; one daughter, Jeanie Wilson and husband, Odell; seven grandchildren: eleven great-grandchildren: five great-great-grandchildren: son-in-law, Jerry Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, L.L. Kubala, one daughter, Mickey Smith and one step-sister, Dorothy McCollum.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the Myrtle Cemetery with Jim Riley officiating. Pallbearers will be Nate Allen, Gage Lassetter, Weston Knight, Larry Kubala, Terry Smith and Matt Stultz. Honorary pallbearers will be Jaylon Kidd, John Felchak and Bobby Bobo.
The family request in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Ennis Regional Medical Center of Ennis or Legend Oaks Rehabilitation Center in Mary’s name.
