Mark Henry Valek, 56, passed away in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, May 15, 2014.
Mark was born in Ennis, Texas on January 12, 1958 to Henry D. and Margie K. (Honza) Valek. He grew up in Ennis, Texas and graduated from St. John High School. Mark graduated from Navarro College with an associate’s degree in electronics.
On June 17, 1983 he married Cindy M. Zmolek and they made their home in Ennis, Texas. Mark worked in the family business beginning in high school and was co-owner at Valek’s Garage at the time of his death.
He was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJT and SPJST. He enjoyed spending time with his family, camping, fishing, and taking road trips.
Mark is survived by his wife, Cindy M. Valek; his daughters: Rebecca M. Valek and Catherine M. Valek; one brother, Chris Valek, Sr. and wife, Sharon; and two sisters: Phyllis Ward and Michelle Dlabaj and husband, Tim.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with reciting of the Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father John Dick at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 19, 2014 in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church.
Pallbearers at his service will include: Ronnie Zmolek, Tim Dlabaj, Aaron Lenz, Chris Valek, Jr., Scott Bussy and Daniel Hansen.
Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
