James Jeffery Anderson was born May 9,1973, in Anaconda, Montana, to Rodger and Mary Jane Anderson. His mother later married Allen Rangitsch. James spent his childhood years in Anaconda. When he was seventeen he moved with his mother and step father to Fort Hood, Texas, where he attended and graduated with honors from Killeen High School.

On 14 August 1992, James enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served as a cannon crewmember in the Field Artillery Corps. He was separated as an enlisted man from active duty on 6 June 1994, with an appointment to the U.S Military Academy at West Point. He spent four arduous years there and graduated in the top 10% of his class (1998), with a Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Research. Upon graduation he was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Field Artillery Corps., with orders for the Field Artillery Basic Officers School at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. After six months there he received orders for Baumholder, Germany. There he served in the 1st Armored Division (“Old Ironsides”) 4th Battalion, 27th Field Artillery, where he served as a Fire Control Officer, and later as a staff officer (Battalion Adjutant). It was here that he suffered a seizure, and as a result, had to resign his commission from the Army.

He then became a Department of the Army Civilian in Heidelberg, Germany. Within a few months he was recommissioned as a Major in the Army and sent to Bosnia and Macedonia on a classified mission. It was upon his return to Heidelberg, while working on his Master’s Degree from the University of Arkansas (on line), that he met his wife Feri at the Bas&Exchange where she worked. He received his Master’s in Operations Research and Analysis. James and Feri were married 15 March 2002, in Denmark. Their beautiful daughter Juaneh was born 4 January 2004, in Stuttgart, Germany. On 8 January 2007, the Anderson family was transferred from Germany to Corsicana, Texas, with the Northrup-Grumman Corporation. They bought their home in Ennis and moved here, with James working from home as a computer programmer.

James Jeffery Anderson was a good man, blessed by God, a brilliant soldier and officer of the Army of the United States, and a reliable and astute engineer. But most of all, James was a Christian, baptized with his daughter Juaneh, almost two years ago to the day. James, Feri and Juaneh have faithfully attended and actively served Baylor Baptist Church in Ennis. James was a loving husband, father, son, grandson, brother and friend.
