Billie Jack Hart, 86, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 in Ennis, Texas. Billie was born in Garrett, Texas on March 22, 1927 to V. B. and Avis S. (Poteet) Hart. He grew up in Garrett, Texas attended Garrett Schools and graduated from Ennis High School. On July 23, 1945 he married Betty Lou Gilmore and they made their home in Ennis. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during WWII where he worked in the postal department. He worked as a fireman for Southern Pacific Rail Road, for Gilmore Plumbing, then started owned and operated B.J. Hart Plumbing and A/C for over sixty years. He was a member of the Church of Christ on Country Club Road where he taught Sunday School and served as a deacon, was a member of the IOOF. He enjoyed flying, gardening and photography. He is survived by his wife of over sixty-eight years, Betty Hart of Ennis; two daughters: Carolyn Brewer and her husband, Donald of Ennis and Teresa Reeves and her husband, Robin of Palmer; four grandchildren: Lezlie Shirley and husband, Brett, Paul Brewer, Rhett Reeves and Brock Reeves; six great-grandchildren and two sisters: Anna Houx of San Antonio and Virginia Lewis and husband, Bill of Ennis. He is preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Church of Christ on Country Club Road in Billie Jack’s name. Jewel E. Light Jewel E. Light, 96, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Wednesday, February 26, 2014. Jewel was born in Montrose, CO on September 2, 1917 to Joseph Austin and Marietta (Dye) Woods. She grew up in Montrose and attended school in Montrose and Saint Louis, MO. On May 29, 1936 she married James Light and they lived in Saint Louis, before she moving to Ennis in 2007. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She enjoyed soap operas that she called “her stories”. Above all she loved her family and spending time with them. She also spent many an hour with her pet Petie a Quaker parrot teaching her to talk. She is survived by one son, Gary L. Light of Fenton, MO; one daughter, Joetta Roth of Ennis; twelve grandchildren: twenty-two great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Light on February 10, 1973, three sisters and one great-granddaughter. Edith K. Wooten, 93, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Sunday, March 2, 2014. Edith was born in Cisco, Texas on October 5, 1920 to Jessie and Hallie (Yeatts) Cook. She grew up in Josephine, Texas and graduated from Southmayd School in 1938. On January 8, 1939 she married Marvin O “Bud” Wooten and they made their home in Sherman before moving to Ennis in 1942. She worked for Donavan-Galvantie for thirteen years as a floor foreman for Sabrook Fabrics in sales and for Bob Stone Realtor for three years as an agent. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church and the Rebecca Lodge of Ennis. She enjoyed cooking and sewing. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Wilhoite of Ennis; two grandchildren: Tony Wilhoite and Teresa McCarthy; five great-grandchildren: Hillary Laza, Drew Wilhoite, Jeremy Novotny, Trevor Wilhoite and Tori Wilhoite; two great-great-grandchildren: Hannah Laza and Brady Laza and one brother, Don Cook of Wichita Falls. She is preceded in death by her husband, M.O. Wooten on November 13, 2002, son-in-law James Wilhoite and two brothers: R.L. Cook and Simon Cook. Louisa (Mom) De Los Santos, age 71 of Ennis, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2014. She was born in Scurry, Texas, on November 16, 1942 to Maclobio and Julia (Roblez) Carrillo. Louisa married Domingo De Los Santos on July 6, 1962 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. She was a lifetime member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and graduated from Ennis High School. Louisa taught Sunday school at St. John’s; was a Girl Scout Leader for 23 years, worked as a teacher’s aide; was Vice President of the Ennis Art Club, and was on the board of the Hispanic Community. She was a very social person and a believer in community activity. The family will miss their “Lion King”. Survivors include her husband, Domingo De Los Santos; children, Domingo, Jr. and his wife Tracy of Coppell, Sylvia De Los Santos of Ennis, Cynthia Quintero and her husband Henry of Ennis, Yolanda Hambrick and Charles of Ennis, and Jerald De Los Santos and his wife LeAnne of Rice; sixteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sister, Maura Messa and her husband Julian; brother, Mike Carrillo and his wife Lois; several aunts and uncles; special nephew, Joe (Jodi) Paul Carrillo, and niece, Rachel Rios. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julia and Maclobio Carrillo; brothers, Abelino Carrillo and Paul Carrillo; and great grandsons, Jeremiah Cooper and Angel Armendariz, son-in-law, Gary Wayne Hambrick. Ethel Mae Priddy, 86, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Tuesday, March 04, 2014. Ethel was born in Boyce, Texas on September 9, 1927 to John and Gladys Smith. She grew up in Boyce, Texas and attended school in Ennis. On June 10, 1942 she married William Royce Priddy and they made their home in Ennis. She worked for many of the sewing companies in Ennis including, Storey Manufacturing, Royal Park Fashions and Donovan-Galvanti. She was a member of Anthony Drive Baptist Church of Ennis, Rebeca’s and the VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary. She is survived by one son, Jerry Priddy; one daughter, Geraldine “Geri” Bryant and husband, Rickey; four grandchildren: Marcy Busby, Wade Bryant, Melissa Rich and Crystal Bryant; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Clarence Smith and one sister Etta Marie logston. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Royce Priddy, son, James Royce Priddy, grandson, Christopher Bryant, granddaughter, Jennifer Bryant and one brother, Lawrence Smith. Alvy Leon Collins, 86, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Wednesday, February 26, 2014. Alvy was born in Texarkana, Texas on September 18, 1927 to Vera and Alvy Polk. At age two he became the son of Frank and Fannie (Clark) Collins. He grew up in Bardwell, Texas and graduated from Bardwell High School in 1946. On August 9, 1950 he married Gay Nell Tucker and they were lifetime residents of Bardwell. He worked for Ennis Business Forms for over thirty-five years as a pressman and as a Farmer in Bardwell. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bardwell for more than sixty years, the Masonic Lodge in Bardwell #1054 and Ennis #369 for over sixty-five years, the Eastern Star, Scottish Rite of Dallas and IOOF. He enjoyed reading, oil painting, woodwork, history, and traveling. He is survived by one daughter, Sharon Tolar and husband, Tom of Bardwell, grandchildren: Chris Tolar and wife, Laura, Valerie Harvey and husband, Bryan all of Plano; three great-grandchildren: Coleman Tolar, Harrison Tolar and Deacon Harvey; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Don and Una Mahaley of Waxahachie along with several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by all his parents, his wife, Gay Nell Tucker Collins on January 15, 2010, and one sister. The family wishes to thank the Legend Oaks staff and Family First Hospice for the love and care given to Alvy. Lino Torrez, Jr., 51, passed away in Dallas, Texas on Friday, March 7, 2014.
Lino was born in California on August 14, 1962 Lino Torrez, Sr. and Martha Canales He grew up in Bristol, Texas. On July 28, 2001 he married Cynthia Harris.
Lino worked for Tele Tech , Inc. and was the owner and operator of Torrez PC repairs. He was a member of the NRA and Oath Keepers. He enjoyed computers and reading.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Torrez; daughter: Meaghan Leann Torrez; step-daughter, Brooke Nicole Miller; step-sons: Travis Jon and wife, Sarah Miller and Seth Lee Miller; his father, Lino Torrez, Sr.; three sisters: Genevive Blair, Arcilia Mercado and Diane M. Rodriguez; two aunts and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his step-father, Luis Perez and his mother, Martha Canales.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of his life will take place on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the Bible Baptist Church of Ennis, 2200 Ensign Road.

Robert L. Corea passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014 in Palmer, Texas.
Robert was born on January 6, 1936 in Torrance, California to Harry R. and Mary (Radisich) Corea. He grew up in Paramount, CA and graduated from Compton High School in 1953. He went on to Pierce Agricultural College in Woodland Hills, CA to receive a degree in Agricultural Science. On June 13, 1959 he married Judith Pierceall and they made their home in Gardena, California. He served his country proudly in the United States Army in Korea.
He worked for many years for Ralphs Grocery Company in Compton, CA.
He is survived by his wife, Judith A. Peirceall Corea; daughter, Joy K. Hover and husband, Ed Hover of Ennis; sons: Christopher J. Corea and wife, Rossana of Palmer, Robert P. Corea and wife, Tammy of San Diego CA and Thomas M. Corea of Palmer, daughter-in-law Jennifer Corea of Waxahachie; grandchildren: Jessica Corea, Andrew Corea, Olivia Corea, Amanda Corea, Sydney Rose Hover, Riley Hover, Mary Kate Corea, Lily Corea and Bobby Corea.

Curtis Wayne Gorman was born in the Grays Prairie Community in Kaufman County on September 10, 1931 to Curtis and Gracie Nicklas Gorman.
Curtis passed away at his home in Kaufman, Texas on February 25, 2014.
Curtis was raised in Grays Prairie and graduated from Kaufman High School in 1949. He married Mary Ruth Humphrey at the First Baptist Church in Kaufman on August 29, 1952. They lived in Mabank for fourteen years operating the City Cleaners. Later they moved to Ennis where they operated Gorman’s Cleaners for thirty-five years and retired in 1996. Curtis and Mary moved back to Kaufman in 2002. Curtis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kaufman.
He is survived by his wife: Mary of Kaufman, sons: Max Gorman and his wife Edna Kay of Bellevue and Cary Gorman and his wife Jennifer of Van Alstyne, daughter: Kristen Jasper and her husband John of Nacogdoches, grandchildren: Jill Coss, Molly Cowell, Chelsea Gorman, Chase Jasper and Mary Jasper, great-grandchildren: Tucker and Hallie Coss.
Graveside services where held Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Kaufman Cemetery. Services were under the direction of Parker-Ashworth Funeral Home.
