She married the love of her life V P “Jim” Bruzzese in Dallas, TX November 28, 1950. Barbara is preceded in death by 2 sons, Paul Micheal Bruzzese, Mark Daniel Bruzzese and a sister Karol Mildfelt. Barbara is survived by and will be greatly missed by her loving husband V.P. Bruzzese of 63 years, daughter Melissa Knight, and granddaughter Gwen Jorgensen. Visitation will Monday July 8, 2013 6-8:00 PM at Waxahachie Funeral Home. Emilie “Millie” Patak Trojacek, 90, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Friday, July 5, 2013. Millie was born in Creechville, Texas on July 12, 1922 to Rudolph and Lillian (Nekuza) Patak. She grew up in Creechville. On February 14, 1953 she married Leslie Trojacek and they made their home in Garrett, Texas. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and KJZT #16. She enjoyed gardening, canning (especially pickles), quilting with her mother, making over thirty quilts over the years and helping out on the family farm. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of over 59 years of marriage, Leslie Trojacek on April 20, 2012 and one brother. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rosary at 6 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Monday, July 8, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Father John Dick as Celebrant. 2145119Bertha Mae Cave, 87, passed away in Waxahachie, Texas on Friday, July 5, 2013. Bertha was born in Ennis, Texas on May 15, 1926 to John E. and Alvina May (Gorman) Rogers. She grew up in Ennis and attended school here. On July 1, 1946 she married Benjamin Lewis Cave and they made their home in Ennis, then to Cedar Creek Lake in 1977 and then to Waxahachie in 2006. She worked for Southwestern Bell as an operator and for McClain’s Grocery and Deli and Austin’s Dairy Queen in Ennis. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cedar Creek and the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed ceramics, cards, bowling and dominoes. She is survived by her husband, Benjamin Lewis Cave of Waxahachie; two sons: Paul Cave and his wife Cathy of Keller and David W. Cave of Ennis; two daughters: Wanda Wickliffe of Little Elm and Vicki and her husband David Hodge of Nacogdoches; eight grandchildren: Rhonda Ford, Melanie Kaye, Jennifer Widra, Russell Cave, Lisa McGraw, Kelly Crane, Erika Hensley and Ryan Hodge; and eight great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and three sisters. Visitation was on Monday, July 8, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. 2146045Wanda Joyce Welch, 73, left this life to begin her eternal life in Heaven from Ennis, Texas on Sunday, July 7, 2013. Wanda was born in Red Springs, Texas on December 3, 1939 to Arthur Franklin and Mary Ruth (Morgan) Baldwin. She grew up in Seymour, Texas and graduated from Seymour High School in 1958. On June 4, 1974 she married Roy Welch and they lived in Munday, Texas before moving to Ennis in 1985. Wanda worked as the church secretary for First Baptist Church of Munday for over ten years and as secretary of Baylor Baptist Church of Ennis for eight years. She also worked for McCrary Insurance Agency and Arden’s Insurance as a beloved customer service representative before retiring in 2009. She was a member of the Baylor Baptist Church of Ennis. She enjoyed sewing and cooking. She was a big fan of all sports especially the Texas Rangers, The Dallas Mavericks, The Dallas Cowboys and the Dallas Stars. She is survived by two sons: Billy D. Welch of Waxahachie and Gary D. Welch of Ennis; three daughters: Melinda W. King of Ennis, Donna D. Valek of Telico and Pamela J. McNeely of Amarillo; fourteen grandchildren: four great-grandchildren; one brother, Joe Baldwin of Seymour and her beloved dog Bentley. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roy Welch on August 31, 1993, son, Lenny R. Welch on July 19, 2006 and one brother, Harold Baldwin on May 7, 2002. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. 2146793John Matt, 57, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013 in Bristol, Texas. John was born in South Bend, Indiana on June 19, 1956 to Howard and Henrietta Matt. He grew up in Dallas and graduated from Skyline High School in 1974. He went on to the Dallas Aircraft Institute. On July 26, 2004 he married Jody Raine and they made their home in Bristol. He worked for Availl Aircraft as a mechanic until his retirement in 1996. He enjoyed restoring his 1932 Ford antique cars and restoring Harley Davidson motorcycles. He is survived by his wife, Jody Matt of Bristol; his father, Howard Matt of Dallas; two brothers: Steve Matt of Dallas and David Matt of Garland along with two sisters: Rosemary Matt of Fairbanks, Alaska and Mary Ann Matt of Phoenix, Arizona. James was born in Ennis, Texas on January 8, 1937 to O.D. and Ethel (Lewis) Wilhoite He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1955. He went on to attend Navarro College. On December 19, 1958 he married Barbara Wooten and they have been lifetime residents of Ennis. He served his country proudly in the United States Army in Germany from 1956 until 1958. He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad for nine years as a Fireman, for American National Insurance for over twenty years as an agent and served as the Veterans Administration Service Officer for Ellis County from 1987 until 2012. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis, VFW and the Ennis Jaycees. He enjoyed golf and all sports, especially those in and around Ennis. He is survived by his wife of almost fifty-five years, Barbara Wilhoite of Ennis; son, Tony Wilhoite and his wife, Teresa of Ennis; one daughter, Teresa and her husband Dan McCarthy of Waxahachie; five grandchildren: Hillary and Scott Laza, Drew and Christina Wilhoite, Jeremy and Tiffany Novotny, Trevor Wilhoite and Tori Wilhoite; two great-grandchildren: Hannah and Brady Laza along with one sister, Iva Dee Collins of Ennis. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, two sisters and his father-in-law Marvin (Bud) Wooten. Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis located at 1200 Country Club Road, Ennis with Rev. Ethel was born April 19, 1923 in Ennis, Texas to Ellis and Mamie (Phillips) Walker. She grew up in Ennis and attended Ennis schools. On October 25, 1940 she was married to Grady L. Fincher. She and her husband spent their entire lives in Ennis. Ethel loved fishing and gardening in her spare time. She was employed by Storey Manufacturing of Ennis and retired in 1970. She is survived by two sons: Kenneth Wayne Fincher, and his wife, Donna Kay and Larry Fincher, and his wife, Ann, all of Ennis; two sisters: Vivian Hume, of Dallas and Emma Vines, also of Dallas; five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Visitation was held on Sunday, July 14, 2013 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the J. E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Graveside service was held on Monday, July 15, 2013 at 11 a.m. in Myrtle Cemetery with Rev. James Thomas “Tommy” Snell

snell James Thomas “Tommy” Snell, 71, of Lubbock passed away on Sunday July 14, 2013. He was born on Oct. 9, 1941 in Ennis, Texas to Tom and Nell Snell. On June 29, 1965 he and Peggy Chandler were united in marriage at the Kerens Presbyterian Church. Tommy served his country as a Lieutenant with the Texas National Guard during the 1960″s through 1980′s while receiving his Bachelor of Science degree at East Texas State University in 1974. He also served as the Laboratory Director for Medical Arts Clinic in Corsicana. After moving to Belton, he was the Laboratory Director for House Medical Clinic in Killeen, Texas. In December of 1982, he graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a Master of Science in Health Professions. He went on to work in the Administration and Audiology Divisions of the Texas Department of Health in Lubbock retiring in 2006. Tommy is a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Lubbock. Tommy was a loving husband and father and he is survived by his wife of 48 years, daughter Amy Snell of Lubbock, and son Greg and wife Desi of Spring Branch, Texas as well as two grandchildren Luke and Katie Snell. He is also survived by his sister, Laura Jean Isom of San Angelo, numerous nieces and nephews, and his lifelong friend, Ed Whitacre. Visitation will be held on Thurs. July 18th at Paschal Funeral Home in Kerens from 6-8PM. Graveside services will be held at 10AM on Fri. July 19th at the Kerens Cemetery in Kerens with the Rev. Charles Reese officiating. Ernestine M. Santos

Ernestine M. Santos, age 77, a resident of Ennis, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2013 at Vibra Specialty Hospital with her loving family by her side. Ernestine was born on November 14, 1935 in Rankin, Texas to the late Jesus V. and Victoria (Andrada) Martinez. Ernestine married the love of her life, Charlie E. Santos on June 15, 1951 and celebrated over 55 years before his passing on June 19, 2006. She was a dedicated member of St. John Catholic Church. Ernestine’s life was her family; not only rearing her own children, she also reared her grandchildren as well. As mentioned by her family, Ernestine was a genuine giver; she never took, a true caregiver and legendary cook. Everyone who knew her called her Granny. Her life was a testimony of a Christian Lady. She will be truly missed by all who knew her. Ernestine is survived by children, Jerry Santos and his wife Nancy of Ennis, David Santos and his wife Sharon of Ennis, Cynthia Brazier and her husband Gerald of Rice, Danny Santos and his wife Brenda of Waxahachie; sister, Carolina Robles of Grand Prairie; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and loving friends. Along with her husband and parents, Ernestine is preceded in death by her brothers, Ygnacio Martinez, Raymond Martinez; sisters, Bonnie Martinez, Victioria Chappa, and grandson, Clint Matthew Santos. Charlene Whitley, 91, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. Charlene was born in Oklahoma City on October 13, 1921 to Charles B. and Lytia (Foster) Jacobs. She grew up in Oklahoma City and attended school in the Oklahoma City. On April 29, 1946 she married Ruben A. Whitley, after their marriage they lived in El Paso, Texas and then to Ennis in 1975. She worked for Ennis Care Center for twelve years as a nurse’s aide. She was a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by two sons: Dwane Reeves and his wife Norma of Lodi, California, Ronney Whitley and his wife Rene of Seven Points; two daughters: Bettie Eitel of Ennis, Cindy Dixon and her husband, Earl of Garret; step-daughters: Virginia Navarrette of Jefferson, Texas and Dixie Calvin of Bristow, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren: twelve great-grandchildren: three great-great-grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ruben A. Whitley November 9, 1965 and four sisters. Visitation will be on Thursday, July 18, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Olga Spaniel Krysinski, 81, passed away in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, July 25, 2013. Olga was born on March 4, 1932 to John and Mary (Krajca) Spaniel in Ennis, Texas. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from St. John High School. On May 14, 1960 she married Don Krysinski and they made their home in Waco before moving back to Ennis in 2001. She worked for Republic National Bank, Dallas Federal Savings and Loan and the VA Medical Center of Waco before retiring in 1995. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis, Optimist Club, KJZT #16, St Mary’s Women Society and the Golden Crusaders. She enjoyed gardening, painting with oil and acrylics, floral arranging and cooking. She is survived by daughters: Donna Lynn and her husband Randy Smith and Rita Ann and her husband, Randy Felton all of Richardson; two grandchildren: Katie and Reyna; two brothers: George Spaniel, Sr. of Telico and Johnnie Spaniel of Frost and two sisters: Mary Zabojnik of Ennis and Bernice Gee of Frost. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Don Krysinski on February 19, 2010 and brother, Raymond Spaniel. Raymond Eddie Leigh, 89, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Thursday, July 25, 2013. Raymond was born in Watson, Oklahoma on January 6, 1924 to Dewey and Pearl (Baucum) Leigh. He grew up in San Angelo, Texas and graduated from San Angelo School. He married Geneva Earline Wilkinson on June 15, 1948 and they made their home in San Angelo and Odessa for eleven years before moving to Ennis in 1966. He served his country proudly in the United State Navy as a radio operator in the Pacific Theater. He worked for the Corp of Engineers as a lead foreman from 1964 until 1987. He is survived by his wife, Earline Leigh of Ennis; daughters: Ann and her husband Tom Davidson of Palmer and Sandie and her husband Sam Childress of Robertsville, Alabama; grandchildren: Mandie, Paul and Emily and great-grandchildren: Logan, Olivia, Maddison, Bradyn and Colton. Freddy G. McMillon, 69, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Sunday, July 21, 2013. Freddy was born in Greenville, Texas on July 7, 1944 to Robert and Odessa (English) McMillon. He grew up in Greenville and attended Greenville Schools. He joined the United States Navy but was unable to serve after it was discovered he was too young to enlist. He worked for more than forty years as a long-haul truck driver. He was a member of the Highway Riders Ellis County Chapter and the Alma Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed camping and riding motorcycles. He is survived by two sons: Robert McMillon and Cody McMillon both of Ennis; three daughters: Angie Baldridge of Tyler, Patsy and her husband Jose Carmona of Little Elm and Melissa McMillon of Ennis; five grandchildren: three great-grandchildren and two sisters. She worked for more than thirty years for Donivan-Galvanti and R.C. Sewing as a seamstress. She was a member of the Anthony Drive Baptist Church of Ennis. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She is survived by one son, Donald Keith Allen and his wife Melonia of Frankston, TX; daughter, Delores and her husband, John Rhodes of Waxahachie; three grandchildren: two great-grandchildren: one brother, Roy Martin of Ennis; three sisters: Joyce Carter, Dorothy Keeney and Bonnie Pishanidar all of Ennis and special friend Jay Rhodes. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Clifton Shaw Allen, two children, Diana Lene Allen and David Lee Allen, one brother and one sister. She is survived by five siblings; Cullen and Shea Cox of Barren County, Kentucky; Ryan Watson of Mabank, Texas, and Savannah and Peyton Cox of Ft. Worth, Texas. Paternal grandparents: Mike and Linda Cox of McKinney and Paula Cox of Dallas; maternal grandparents: Danny and Eileen Eckeberger of Ennis. Great Grandmothers: Wanda Eckeberger of Ennis and Mary Helen Cooksey of Lake Jackson: maternal great-great-grandmother, Alafrank Shaw of Ennis. Katie Jo also let many unmentioned loving family members and caring friends. Katie Jo (Pure Sweetheart) gave a lifetime of joy during her welcomed stay on this earth. She has passed into the arms of loving family and friends who have preceded, awaiting the arrival of the rest of us who love and miss her.
