WANDA ONETA PRESTIDGE RAY

Wanda Oneta Prestidge Ray, 82, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on Friday, March 25, 2016.

Wanda was born in Ennis, Texas, on March 12, 1934, to McCoye Price and Mattie Ann (Farquhar) Prestidge. She

grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1953. On May 21, 1954, she married Atwell Ray and they

made their home in Palmer where they have stayed and raised their family.

She worked for over fifty years for the East Garrett Water Supply serving as Secretary and bookkeeper. She was a

member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. Her family was the joy of her life and she was always ready to be there for all of

them in any way she could especially attending school activities. She enjoyed camping, fishing and country music,

Johnny Cash was her all-time favorite country singer.

Wanda was a loving, giving caring person who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her

memory will be carried and cherished most by her family including her husband of over sixty-one years, Atwell Ray;

sons: Dan Ray and wife Liz and Randy Ray and wife Kathy; daughters: Lisa Hunter and husband Blaine, and Regina

Mach; grandchildren: Jessica, Drew, Nicole, Matt, Brooke, Chandler and Christian; and great-grandchildren: Aiden,

Emery, Addison, Hudson, Atlas, Allison and Nolan.

She goes home to meet loved ones who have gone on before her including one son, Terry Wayne Ray; her parents,

McCoye Price and Mattie Ann Prestidge; and brothers: Bill, Wayne, Coye and Beryl Prestidge.

Visitation was held on Friday April 1, 2016, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of her life took place on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of

Ennis with Bro. Dave Futral officiating. Pallbearers were Andrew Ray, Matthew Ray, Felix Patlan, Michael Korthauer,

Clay Major, Blaine Hunter, Aiden Hunter. Interment followed in Union Hill Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever

Mortuary, Inc.
