Rev. Kenneth W. Hill, 81, went home to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, early Monday morning, December 14, 2015, from Ennis, Texas.
Kenneth was born in Jacksonville, Texas, on July 18, 1934, to Clyde and Dena (Slider) Hill. He grew up in Jacksonville and attended Jacksonville High School. He went on to attend the Baren School of Assembly of God. On July 21, 1973, he married Erma Shaver and they made their home in Jacksonville, Trinity and finally to Ennis in 1987.
He worked for the family owned grocery store for over twenty years and was a servant of Lord for over fifty years as an Assembly of God pastor serving for sixteen years in Ennis. Pastor Hill was a soft spoken, kind hearted, loving servant of God who lived an example for others to follow. He loved his Lord first, his family second and others always. He enjoyed watching sports.
Rev. Hill will be missed by all those fortunate to have known him and his memory will be cherished most by his family including his loving wife of over forty-two years, Erma R. Hill; daughters: Debra Morton and Angie Oliver; grandchildren: Trae Morton and wife, Terri, Kyle Morton and wife, Rachel, Adrienne Oliver and Michael Waples; great-grandchildren: Kylie, Landen, Logan and Raegyn and all of the adopted children and grandchildren over the years.
He goes home to meet his parents and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 17, 2015, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
A Celebration of his life was held on Friday, December 18, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Darrell Nelson and Diana Clairborne-Jacob officiating. Interment will follow in the Palestine Cemetery of Palestine, Texas at 3 p.m. with Ernest Higginbotham officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
