William Hiram “Harm” Cain, of Palmer, departed this life on his 82nd birthday, September 10, 2015, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Waxahachie. Harm was born September 10, 1933, in Scroggins, Texas, to Johnny and Ruby White Cain. He married Joda Rae Cheek November 12, 1959. Harm worked for E & D. Automotive and Lec Electric for over 40 years before his retirement. He was a member of North Mesquite Assembly of God Church. He was fondly known as Daddy and Papa to everyone who loved him.
Harm is survived by his daughter, Dorothy Cain-McCarty; grand-daughters Heather McCarty and Haley McCarty; great-grand-daughters Sierra McCarty and Cayley McCarty; sister-in-law, LaRue Jenkins; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Joda Rae; brothers Arthur and Robert Cain; sisters Emmalou Cain, Winnie Gore and Viola Shewmake; and by his parents.
Visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, September 13, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis. Funeral services will be Monday, September 14, 2015, at 12 noon in the chapel at Boze Mitchell McKibbin in Ennis. Interment will follow at Myrtle Cemetery in Ennis.
