Kenneth Quinten Blakely, 67, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, May 31, 2015, at home in Waxahachie, Texas, with his loving family by his side. Kenneth was born in Ennis, Texas, on March 15, 1948, to Durgen Werg and Effie Mae (Ballard) Blakely. Kenneth attended school in Ennis. Kenneth owned a dry-cleaning business in Ennis, from the age of 16 years old, he then took a job with Taylor Publishing Co., in 1968. He was a pressman with the company for more than 40 years. He retired in 2010.
He is survived by his son, Timothy Scott Blakely; his daughter, Christi Lynn Smith and her husband DJ; sisters, Cynthia Ramsey and Doris Cornelius; brothers, Harold, Roland, and Thomas; granddaughters, Sara Lynn Livingston, Kerri Nicole Haba, and Jessica Michelle Hill; grandson, Donald Ray Hill; four great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and great-grandson Sylas Quinten Flores who is expected to arrive in September.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Effie Mae (Ballard) Blakely; father, Durgen Werg Blakely; his brother, Charles D Lemuel Blakely; and his sister, Mae Audrene Blakely Green.
Visitation for family and friends will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, in the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 4, in the chapel of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home with Ed Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Branch Cemetery in Maypearl.
