1897659Virginia Rios, 88, passed away in Ennis on Sunday, January 6, 2013. Virginia was born in Forreston, Texas on September 13, 1924 to Jose and Maria (Galban) Alvarado. She grew up in Forreston and in the Ellis County area. She attended school in Rankin, Texas. On February 21, 1944 she married Albert Rios and they made their home in Forreston and then to Rankin. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting. She is survived by sons: Albert Rios, Jr. and his wife, Delfina of Bardwell, John Rios and his wife, Paula of Mesquite and Billy Rios and his wife, Charlotte of Bardwell; daughters: Angelita Sherrill of Bardwell, Della and her husband, Todd Blain of Red Oak and Jessica Voelkel of Bardwell; seven grandchildren: one great-grandson: one brother, Steve Alvarado of New York City and one sister, Ester Leyva of Red Oak. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Rios in 1991, her parents two sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be on Friday, January 11, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Father Antonio Ormaza as celebrant.
