Aubry Lee “Al” Lewis

Aubry Lee “Al” Lewis, 77, passed away in Ennis, Texas, on March 9, 2015.
Al was born in Crisp, Texas, on Sept. 22, 1937, to James O. and Josephine Lee (Wright) Lewis. He grew up in Crisp and Ennis and attended Ennis High School. He went on to serve his country in the United States Navy as a Com Eight. On Oct. 1, 1980, he married Connie Berry and they made their home in Italy, Texas.

He worked for Western Union for over twenty years in sales. He was a member of the Faith Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed working in the yard doing landscaping and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Connie L. Lewis; son, Rodney D. Lewis and wife, Kristi; daughters: Deanna Holt, Barbara Lewis, Nina Montoya and Suzanna Moore and husband Dennis; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Mary Patterson and husband Kenneth, and Betty Bowden and husband Son.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, James A. Lewis and Thomas M. Lewis and two sisters, Mattie Beth Burris and Sybil Ruth Higginbotham.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13, at 10 a.m. prior to services. A Celebration of his life will take place on Friday, March 13, at 11 a.m. in the Faith Assembly of God Church of Ennis with Rev. Darrell Nelson officiating.
