Duane Shaw, 70, went home to sing for her Lord and Savior in the Heavenly Choir on Saturday, March 7, 2015.
Duane was born in Dallas, Texas, on March 9, 1944, to William Choyse and Dorothy E. (Hefley) Hall. She grew up in Dallas and graduated from Sunset High School in 1962. On Nov. 23, 1962, she married the love of her life, Morris Shaw, and they made their home in Ennis, where they remain.
She worked for the City of Ennis in the Water and Inspectors office, for Ferguson Electric as bookkeeper and secretary, and was an Esthetician helping those that came to see her with the special treatment that only Duane could provide because of the love she had for all. She was a member of the Baylor Baptist Church of Ennis. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and using her beautiful voice in song. She loved being with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Her memory will be carried on by those who loved her, especially her husband of over fifty-two years, Morris Shaw; son, Scott Shaw and wife Melinda; grandchildren: Ashley Cade and husband Aaron, and Joseph Shaw; great-grandchildren: Lainey and Will Cade; one brother, Luther Hall; and a host of family and friends.
She goes home to join her parents; her step-father, Ray McCrary; one brother, Choyse Hall; and one sister, Marie Schuler.
Visitation is on Monday, March 9, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will take place on Tuesday, March 10, at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Johnnie Mansell and Rev. Chet Hensley officiating. Pallbearers will be Vance Vyers, Lonnie Moser, James Fersugson, Danny Eckeberger, John Mark Eckeberger and Lynn Eckeberger. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
