Christopher Alan Davis, 53, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on Jan. 14, 2015.
Chris, brother of Bruce Davis of Palmer, was killed near Odessa while transporting prisoners from the Middleton Unit in Abilene.
Survivors include his wife, Donna, of Abilene; brother Bruce and his wife Barbara Davis of Palmer; and his parents, Irving Perry and Ruthanne Davis of Abilene.
Chris lived with his adored wife in Abilene and had served the State of Texas as a corrections officer since 1997.
Chris and Bruce moved to Abilene with their parents in 1974. The brothers built forts together in the woods of Massachusetts as boys and rode the back roads of Texas together on their Harleys as men.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 23, at The Hamil Family Funeral Home, 6449 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 24, at Trinity Baptist Church in Abilene, with burial to follow at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the100club.org or the Ellis County animal shelter.
