Carol J. Sanders, 69, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015, from Dallas, Texas.
Carol was born in Cowlingsville, Ark., on Oct. 29, 1945, to John D. and Greta (Davis) Mitchell. She grew up in Cowlingsville, Ark., and graduated from Mineral Springs High School in 1963. She went on to receive her X-Ray Technician degree from Wadley Medical Center Radiology College. On Dec. 20, 1964, she married William H. Sanders, Jr. and they made their home in Texarkana then to Dallas and settled in Ennis in 1973.
She worked for over 40 years as an X-Ray Technician for the Texas Back Institute, Baylor Medical Center, Ennis, Presbyterian Hospital, and Wadley Hospital. She was also co-owner and operator of the Sanders Funeral Home of Ennis. She was a member of Baylor Baptist Church since 1973 and was a past member of the Ennis Garden Club. She enjoyed sewing, oil painting and crafts. She loved time with her “Big Six” buddies. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She was an Arkansas country girl at heart.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Sanders; son, Sean Sanders and wife Kelli; daughter, Susan Sanders; three grandchildren, Britani, Riley Kate and Gracie; one brother, Rion Kerry Mitchell and wife Patty; sister, Connie Mitchell and partner DeeDee McCauley; and her little princess, Evie.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Stanley Davis Mitchell.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. in the Baylor Baptist Church of Ennis with Rev. Chet Hensley and Rev. Johnny Mansell officiating.
