Joe Torres Gobea, 69, passed away in Ennis, Texas, on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015.
Joe was born in Odom, Texas on June 19, 1945, to Jose P. and Tomasa (Torres) Gobea. He grew up in Lubbock, Texas, and graduated from Lubbock High School in 1963. He married Olga San Miguel in January of 1969. They lived in Dallas, Lubbock, and were currently residents of Ennis.
He owned and operated an appliance repair business. He was a member of Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Lubbock. He enjoyed golf and pool.
He is survived by his wife, Olga Gobea; one son, David Joe Vasquez and wife Rachael; one daughter, Sylvia Reyna; six grandchildren: 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Alberto Gobea and wife Gloria and one sister, Rosie Gobea Rocha.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael Gobea; one daughter, Lisa Marie; and one brother, Paul Gobea.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, Jan. 14, from 6 until 8 p.m. with Rosary at 7 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis. Mass of the Christian burial will take place on Thursday, Jan. 15, at 10 a.m. at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis, with Father Antonio Ormaza as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
