Sterling Albert ‘Sweet’ Mundie

Mundie obit picSterling Albert “Sweet” Mundie, 71 of Purdon, Texas passed away Saturday October 04, 2014 at his residence.  Sterling was born February 28, 1943 in Crandall, Texas to the late Sterling B. Mundie, Jr., and Lois C. Rogers Mundie.  Sterling attended Scurry Rosser High School where he played basketball.  In 1965 he joined the U.S. Army, after high school. He served during Vietnam and at the time of his discharge in 1969, his rank was Sp5 or E5 in the Army.  He received the Vietnam Service Medal and expert rifle M-14 training.  Sterling worked for many years with Koral and Dart Container as a supervisor.

He enjoyed working on old vehicles, coaching sports. He loved anything outdoors, his animals and above all loved his children and grandchildren very much.

He will be dearly missed by his family and all that knew him and loved him.

He is survived by his wife: Sally Chenault Mundie; Children:  Sterling Bart & wife Vickie Mundie of Scurry, Texas; Brian Keith Stormy Mundie of Ennis, Texas; Jaimie & Scotty Jenkins of Waxahachie, Texas;  Stephen Chenault of Forreston, Tx.; James Bryant Chenault of Purdon, Texas; Sister:  Peggy & Dan Park of Hico, Texas;  Grandchildren:  Brandon Scott, Nikki Mundie of Irving, Texas; Heather Nicole Mundie of Scurry, Texas; Amber Mundie of Sunrise, Arizona; James Tyler Chenault & Jordan Renee Chenault both of Maypearl, Texas; Great Grandchild:  Alyssa Elaine Bynum and  his best friend Sparky and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and one son.

Services to celebrate his life are scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of Wayne Boze Funeral Home with Pastor Charky Marquis officiating.

Interment will follow at the Forreston Cemetery.

Visitation with the family is scheduled Thursday, October 09, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Wayne Boze Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home in Waxahachie.
