Arthur Carrel “Buddy” Gorman

2661967Arthur Carrel “Buddy” Gorman, 87, departed this life Saturday August 30, 2014. Mr. Gorman was a lifelong resident of Ellis County. He was born December 5, 1926, the sixth and last of children born to Arthur William Gorman and Texas Penina Owen and grew up on his father’s cotton farm in the Rankin Community. He married Genece Hammonds in December 1949.

Mr. Gorman was employed by the Texas Power & Light Company before commencing a 29 year career with the Texas Employment Commission in Waxahachie. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Ennis, Texas, a member of the Waxahachie Optimist Club, and a Past Master of Chambers Creek Masonic Lodge #499 in the Rankin Community, where he served as Secretary for nearly thirty years.

He was preceded in death by a son, Jim Blake Gorman and his wife, Genece H. Gorman. He is survived by his daughter, Lori Ann Little and husband Tom and two granddaughters, Kelly Ann Tebbe and husband Ryan, and Lauren Alison Little.

Visitation will be Thursday evening September 4, 2014 from 6-8 PM in the J. E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with the funeral service held Friday September 5, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Keever chapel, Larry Glynn Atchley officiating. Interment will be at Elm Branch Cemetery in Bardwell under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc., Ennis , Texas. Pallbearers will be Hal Gorman, Kenneth Gorman, Alan Wolaver, Steven Wolaver, Urbin McKeever, and James Hoosier.

Those wishing to make a donation in Mr. Gorman’s name may do so to Tabernacle Baptist Church 1200 Country Club Rd, Ennis – the BeChurch ministry.

The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to Blanca Torrez for her kindness and care-giving during Mr. Gorman’s final days.
