Josephine Kubin, age 90, passed away in Ennis on September 2, 2014. She was born on December 15, 1923 in Ennis to Joe and Angeline (Mensik )Valek. She married Joe R. Kubin on April 19, 1949 in Ennis. She was a lifetime member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJZT, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Sokol Sewing Circle, and Catholic Daughters. Josephine enjoyed baking and taking care of her flower garden.
She is survived by her children, Bobby Kubin and wife Irene of Ennis, Mary Kubin of Ennis, Gene Kubin and wife Cay of Ennis, and Helen Shearer of Belmont, Louisiana; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Valek; brother, Steve Valek, Sr. and wife Louise, all of Ennis.
Josephine is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe R. Kubin; granddaughter, Jeanie Marie Kubin; sister, Angeline Hornik and her husband Joe.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. with a Rosary at 7 P.M. on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at Saint John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father Antonio Ormaza as Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Ennis.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the KZT Scholarship Fund and the Catholic Daughters Scholarship Fund.
