James E. Mobley, Sr., age 91, passed away in Ennis on June 20, 2014. He was born on September 20, 1922 in Dye, Texas to Johnny Melvin and Etta Fay (Byford) Mobley. He was a World War II Veteran and a member of 49ers of Gun Barrel City, and VFW. Pop was in the furniture business for many years in the area and was well known and loved by all. He loved to dance and spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Helen and 8 children; sons, James Mobley (Betty) and Terry Mobley (Sherrilyn); daughters, Ella Blackburn (Wally), Eva Sexton (Marvin), Madeline Presslar (Tom), Maryline Bigham (David), Jackie Zee (Bill), and Donna Creamer (Tom); 6 step-children, Patricia Kilgore, Chester, Greg, Steve and Alan Massingill and Darla Thornton; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and sister, Ila Quintella Kelly.
He is preceded in death by wife, Dovie (mother of his eight children); wife, Iva; grandsons, Marc Anthony and Dell Migura; granddaughter, Ginger pool, brother, Clyde BonL and sister, O’Nita Case.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Chapel in Ennis. Interment will follow at 2:30 P.M.at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.
