Robert L. Garrison, Sr., 87, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Tuesday, May 20, 2014.
Robert was born on August 29, 1926 to Elmer and Ruby (Lane) Garrison in Blooming Grove, Texas. He grew up in Blooming Grove and graduated from Blooming Grove Schools. On January 22, 2010 he married Rose Glosson and they made their home in Ennis, Texas. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during WWII in the Pacific and the European theaters.
He worked for T D Industries for thirty years as a technician. He was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis, was a life time member of the VFW, the 94th U. S. Constabulary Outpost #8, the Honor Flight of Ellis County, Ennis Noon Lions and the Model A Club of Dallas. He enjoyed square dancing, RVing, playing games, crossword puzzles and reading westerns.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Garrison; son, Robert L. Garrison, Jr.; daughters: Cathy Osborn and Marie Penn; five grandchildren: four great-grandchildren; two sisters; Ernestine Duke and Joyce Carter along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, David Garrison.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 22, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of his life will take place on Friday, May 23, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Bob Taylor officiating. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
