2435517Billie Jack Hart, 86, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2014 in Ennis, Texas. Billie was born in Garrett, Texas on March 22, 1927 to V. B. and Avis S. (Poteet) Hart. He grew up in Garrett, Texas attended Garrett Schools and graduated from Ennis High School. On July 23, 1945 he married Betty Lou Gilmore and they made their home in Ennis. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during WWII where he worked in the postal department. He worked as a fireman for Southern Pacific Rail Road, for Gilmore Plumbing, then started owned and operated B.J. Hart Plumbing and A/C for over sixty years. He was a member of the Church of Christ on Country Club Road where he taught Sunday School and served as a deacon, was a member of the IOOF. He enjoyed flying, gardening and photography. He is survived by his wife of over sixty-eight years, Betty Hart of Ennis; two daughters: Carolyn Brewer and her husband, Donald of Ennis and Teresa Reeves and her husband, Robin of Palmer; four grandchildren: Lezlie Shirley and husband, Brett, Paul Brewer, Rhett Reeves and Brock Reeves; six great-grandchildren and two sisters: Anna Houx of San Antonio and Virginia Lewis and husband, Bill of Ennis. He is preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Church of Christ on Country Club Road in Billie Jack’s name. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. Graveside services will be on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 3 p.m. in Myrtle Cemetery with John L. Sullivan officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. www.jekeevermortuary.com
