Salvador Moreno Martinez, age 90, passed away in Waxahachie on January 9, 2014. He was born in Italy on February 6, 1923 to Faustino and Alberta (Moreno) Martinez. He was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church in Italy; he served in the United States Army as a Rifleman from 1943 to 1945. He is survived by a sister, Victoria Santos of Avalon; nieces and nephews, Robert Martinez, Jr., Albert Martinez, Mary Aguirre, Julia Martinez, Louis Santos, Adam Santos, and Yolanda Flores; great nieces and nephews, Jude Martinez, Jessie Aguirre, Zeke Martinez, Ashley Martinez, Miranda Martinez, Angelica Lopez, Rebecca Aguirre, Veronica Aguirre, Christopher Santos, Stevan Santos, Anthony Santos, Lizette Santos, Ivan Santos, Allysa Santos, Louis Santos, Jr., and Priscilla Santos; great great nieces and nephews, Penny lane, Adaley Bernal and Jordani Arias. Salvador is preceded in death by his parents, Faustino and Alberta Martinez; brothers and sisters, Jessie Martinez, Joe Martinez, Cruz Martinez, and Robert Martinez. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 P.M. with a Rosary at 6 P.M. on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home Chapel in Italy. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9 A.M. on Monday, January 13, 2014 at Epiphany Catholic Church in Italy with Father John Dick as Celebrant. Burial will be at Italy Cemetery.
