Charles Raymond “Charlie” Honza

2211557Charles Raymond “Charlie” Honza went joyfully to be with his Lord Jesus on Thursday, August 29, 2013. Charlie was born in Ennis, Texas on March 29, 1948 to Charles Rudolph and Bessie (Svehlak) Honza. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was glad to call himself a disciple of Christ. He graduated from St. John’s High School in 1966 and lived all of his life in Ennis, Texas. On October 3, 1970 he married his sweetheart, Betty Vytopil. They had a son, Jodie, daughter-in-law Sharon and daughter Christie. He was the proud grandfather “Paw Paw” of Jacob Honza, Marie Walker, Jarron Honza, Kaillan Honza and Jack Walker. Charlie worked for Safeway Food Store from 1966 to 1986 as a butcher and for Brookshire’s Food Store for four years. In 1992 he was employed by Arden Insurance Agency, Inc. along with his wife Betty. They owned and operated Arden’s Insurance Agency, Inc. until 2001 when it merged with Bibby Brilling and Associates, LLC. At the time of his death Charlie was a partner of Bibby Brilling and Associates, LLC. Charlie was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Ennis. He was a twenty year member of the Ennis Noon Lion Club, past board member of the Ennis Chamber of Commerce and past board member of ACROSS (A Christian Response of Shelter and Service). Charlie loved the outdoors and especially watching a beautiful sunset. He was an avid fisherman and liked to tournament fish. Charlie is survived by his wife, Betty and son and daughter-in-law Jodie and Sharon Honza; and daughter, Christie Walker, along with his five grandchildren. He is also survived by sister and brother-in-law: Cecilia and Jerry Salik, brother and sister-in-law George and Margo Honza, sister, Betty Faubion, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Nancy and Scott Morgan and Garth and Patsy Hodge along with cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of his life and love for the Lord Jesus will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church of Ennis. Visitation with the family will be held at J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis on Friday, August 30, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The family requests memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Ennis or the charity of your choice. www.jekeevermortuary.com
