Joe Jurcak, Jr., 65, passed away in Dallas, Texas on Friday, March 8, 2013 after a year long battle with ALS. Joe was born in Dallas, Texas on July 3, 1947 to Joe and Alice (Skrivanek) Jurcak, Sr. He grew up in Dallas and graduated from W.W. Samuell High School in 1965. He served his country proudly in the United State Army in Vietnam from 1968-1969 as a radio operator where he came in contact with Agent Orange. He worked for Folsom Company, First Company, and retired from Lone Star Gas Company after thirty-two years as a service specialist. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Mesquite and the American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He is survived by one brother, Frank Johnny Jurcak and his wife, Brenda of Mesquite: special friend, Debbie Stewart and her son Jason Stewart along with other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Jurcak, Sr. and Alice Jurcak. Visitation will be on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of his life will take place on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Leslie Loftin officiating. Interment will follow in Crisp Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
