Petra Martinez, 58, passed away in Dallas, Texas on Sunday, July 31, 2016.
Petra was born in George West, Texas on January 18, 1958 to Juan and Isabell (Rodriguez) Morin. She grew up in George West, Texas and Ennis, Texas and attended schools in both cities. In 1974 she married Pablo Martinez and they made their home in Ennis, Texas.
She worked for Story’s Manufacturing as a seamstress and for Day’s Inn as a housekeeper. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis. Her family was the joy of her life especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild.
She is survived by three sons; Geno Martinez and wife, Christina, Angelo Martinez and Santino Martinez; two daughters: Monica Martinez Northcutt and Ann Marie Martinez; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers: Isidro Morin, Sam Morin and Pedro Morin along with three sisters: Maria Gonzalez, Jesusa Morin and Janie Garcia.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m.
Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Father John Dick as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
