Theresa Florene Kasowski, 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, surrounded by her loved ones.
Theresa was born in Anderson, Texas, on September 10, 1931, to Albert and Rosalie (Gorney) Berger. She grew up in Anderson and attended Anderson schools. On May 19, 1956, she married Roman Robert Kasowski and they made their home in Houston, then Dallas and finally settled in Ennis in 1972.
She worked for Texaco Oil Company, Story Manufacturing as a seamstress and for Austin Elementary School in the cafeteria. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters and the Altar Society.
Theresa loved life and lived it to the fullest. Her Catholic faith was her cornerstone and she prayed faithfully and daily. She loved to sew, making pillows for her grandchildren that they use to this day. She also cared and cooked for them and anyone that graced her doorstep. Her other passions included fishing at her tank, growing flowers and gardening in her one acre garden. She was the matriarch and historian of her large polish family. She taught many of them to dance and provided them with guidance, support and love.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Roman Robert Kasowski; daughter, Debbie and her husband, Thomas ( T – Bone) Liska; son, Ron Kasowski and wife, Elaine; four grandchildren: Jarod Hunter and wife, Trista, Abby Liska, Rachel Kasowski and Jake Kasowski; two great-grandchildren: Greyson and Brody Hunter, one sister, Christine Sweet, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, six brothers, five sisters and an infant son Kenny.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 18th, 2016 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 10 a.m. in St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery of Ennis under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
Pallbearers will be: Jarod Hunter, Jake Kasowski, Brian Marshall, Albert Cutia, Roy Noski and Danny Bilski. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Greyson Hunter and Brody Hunter.
