Bobby Rex “PaPo” Benner, Sr., 68, passed away in Ennis, Texas, on Saturday, December 26, 2015.

Bobby was born in Ennis, Texas, on December 25, 1947, to Cefus Pascal and Josie (Featherston) Benner, Sr. He grew up in Ennis and

attended Ennis High School. He went on to Navarro College to receive his degree in Criminal Justice. On August 1, 1968, he married

Patricia Thornton and they made their home in Jacksonville, Florida, before moving to Ennis. He served his country proudly in the

United States Navy serving for nine years.

He worked for Elk Roofing Company for over twenty-eight years and was a Sherriff Reserve officer for over twenty years. He

enjoyed fishing and working in his shop.

He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him and his memory will be cherished most by his family including his wife of over forty-

eight years, Patricia Benner; two sons: Bobby Rex Benner, Jr. and Billy Ray Benner and wife, Casey; two daughters: Amy Brown and

Jeanna Ramblin; six grandchildren: one great-grandchild and three sisters: Melba Scott, Jodie Benner and Sharla Lauderdale.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harold and Cefus and two sisters, Barbara and Darla.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

A Celebration of his life will take place on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis

with Rev. Craig Garland and Rev. Keith Bates officiating. Interment will follow in Grady Cemetery under the direction of J.E.

Keever Mortuary, Inc.
