Daniel Eugene “Danny” Kubin, age 64, passed away in Ennis on December 5, 2015. He was born on May 26, 1951, to John Frank and Antonie “Toni” (Vrana) Kubin. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and won numerous fishing trophies. He graduated from Saint John School, got an associate degree at Navarro College, and was a member of Saint John Catholic Church, and KJT (The Czech Catholic Union of Texas). Danny had many illnesses, but battled them and always came out on top. He was a fighter.
He is survived by his mother, Toni Kubin of Ennis; one brother, Leon Kubin and wife Anita of Ennis; three sisters, Polly Henry and husband Charlie of Royse city, Diane Kubin of Dallas, and Janice Reed and husband Randy of Dallas, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Chris, Patrick and wife Lisa, Andrew and wife Julie Kubin, Melissa and Michael Loosier, Jennifer Norris and her husband Chad, and Jeremy Walker and wife Crystal, ten great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, John Frank Kubin.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Saint John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father John Dick as Celebrant. Serving as pallbearers will be: Chris Kubin, Patrick Kubin, Andrew Kubin, Michael Loosier, Jeremy Walker, Riley Norris and Steve Vrla; honorary pallbearers will be Michael Holt and Raymond Dlabaj.
The Rite of Committal will be at Saint Joseph Cemetery in Ennis at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Layman’s Catholic Cemetery Trust or the charity of your choice.
