Doyce “D.W.” Eves, 83, passed away in Waxahachie, Texas, on Wednesday, December 2, 2015.
He was born in Waxahachie, Texas, on December 21, 1931, to Robert Bruce and Rudy Louise (Wilson) Eves. He grew up in Telico and graduated from Ennis High School. He went on to attend Navarro College and the University of North Texas. On November 26, 1955, he married Henrietta Murphy and they made their home in Dallas and then to DeSoto. He served his county proudly in the United States Army.
He was the owner of the Eves Insurance Company for over forty-seven years. He was a member of the Hampton Place Baptist Church, VFW in Dallas and the Ennis Lionbackers. He enjoyed flying, football and farming.
He will be fondly remembered by those fortunate to know him and his memory will be cherished by his family including his wife of over sixty years, Henrietta Eves; one son, Robert Clayton Eves; two brothers: Jerry Dan Eves and Warren Lynn Eves; two sisters: Rebecca Ann Hanson and Sandra Gail Kubin along with numerous other family and close friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Bobbie Jo Eves.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2015, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
A Celebration of his life will take place on Monday, December 7, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Interment will follow in the Telico Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
