Michael Fred Childress, Sr., 62, passed away in Bardwell, Texas, on Tuesday, December 1, 2015.
Michael was born on August 31, 1953, to Rob Roy and Freddie Lou (Coulston) Childress in Ennis, Texas. He grew up in Ennis and attended school in Ennis. On July 17, 1977, he married Linda Reece and they made their home in Ennis then to Killeen, Galveston, and back to Ennis in 2012.
He worked for Leggett and Platt for over thirty-seven years as a border bender. He was a member of the Baptist church. He enjoyed fishing, camping and collecting coins.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Childress; one son, Michael F. Childress, Jr.; two daughters: Edna Davis and husband, Elmo and Freddy Childress; four grandchildren: Makayla, Amy, Stevie-Ray and Lourita and two brothers: Dennis Childress and Randy Childress and wife, Terry and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents and several aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
A Memorial service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the Emmanuel Upper Room in Reagor Springs under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
