Francisca Z. Hernandez, age 74, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Legend Oaks in Ennis. She was born January 29, 1941, to Manuel and Herminia (Vargas) Zapata in Robstown, Texas. She was loved by many and loved her family, always putting them first. Francisca was a faithful servant of the Lord. She was an active member of the Italy Epiphany Catholic Church and served on many committees at the church.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Ruperto Hernandez and wife Marianne of Waxahachie; two daughters, Natalia Sellers and husband Ennis of Waxahachie and Sophia Hernandez of Ennis; grandchildren, Senovio Hernandez, Alicia Hernandez, Jacob Sellers and Elijah Sellers; brother, Simon Zapata and wife Elisa of Ennis and numerous nieces and nephews. Francisca was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ramon Hernandez; brothers, Timoteo Zapata, Anselmo Zapata and Moses Zapata; sisters, Anita Herrera and Maria Morales.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 30, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Boze Mitchell McKibbin Chapel in Ennis, with a Rosary at 7 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Ennis with Father Antonio Ormanza as Celebrant. Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery in Ennis.
