Roy Richard Pruett, Jr., 76, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015, in Mesquite, Texas.
Richard was born in Hearne, Texas, on December 16, 1938, to Roy Richard and Montia Ve (Stanfield) Pruett, Sr. He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1957. He went on to attend Navarro College. On October 15, 1960, he married Geraldine Mikula and they made their home in Dallas for ten years then made their home in Mesquite, Texas, since 1970. He served his country proudly in the United States Army.
He worked for Metzger’s Milk and then for Borden’s Milk Company for forty-six years before retiring in 2007. He was a member of the St. Pius Catholic Church of Dallas. He enjoyed traveling, woodwork, yard work and fishing. The joy of his life was his family especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of over fifty-five years, Geraldine Pruett; daughters: Janna Pruett Dolezalik and husband, Greg and Angela Pruett Criswell and husband, Charlie; grandchildren: Katelyn, Holly and Aubrey; grand dog, Macie; brothers: Gerald Pruett and Ronald Lee Pruett.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 4, 2015, at 10 a.m. at the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
A Celebration of his life will take place at 11 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary with interment to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
