Betty Regina Spaniel, age 77, passed away on October 11, 2015. She was born on October 18, 1937 in Richards, Texas, to Michael and Mary Baranowski. She was a homemaker, loving wife and mother. She and Victor were married on November 26, 1960, in Houston, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Victor; children, Karen Sabharwal (Kapil), Karl Spaniel (Suzann), Kay Hibbs (Gary), and Keith Spaniel (Carla); grandchildren, Maddie, Samantha, Raynie, Cyrus, Emily, and Warren. She is also survived by sisters, Theresa Hoffart, Janie Okonski, Ann Young, and Bernice Baronowski.
She was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, Johnny Baranowski, Steve Baranowski, Tony Baranowski, Floyd Baranowski, Max Baranowski; and three sisters, Verna Marek, Francis Swatloski and Mary Walker.
Through the years, Betty volunteered with the church serving as a Eucharistic minister, Religious Education teacher, member of the Altar Society and music ministry. The family wants to give a special thanks to Gentiva Hospice for all their loving care. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a local food pantry is appreciated.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2015, at Saint John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father Henry Drozd as Celebrant.
Interment at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas will be 11:15 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2015. Serving as pallbearers will be Kapil Sabharwal, Karl Spaniel, Gary Hibbs, Keith Spaniel, Jim Pustejovsky, and Charles Kriska.
