Kay Ann Hughey

Kay Ann Hughey, 77, was in Dallas, Texas, when she passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on Monday, October 5, 2015.

Kay was born in Ennis, Texas, on October 7, 1937, to Aubry A. and Maggie A. (Walker) Aldridge. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1956. She went on to Beauty College in Dallas. On October 16, 2004, she married Ray Hughey and they made their home in Ennis.

Kay was a beautician at Murphy’s Beauty Shop for over fifty years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ennis and attended the First Christian Church of Ennis. She was a member also of the Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed music and sewing. Kay was the kind of person who never met a stranger, to her everyone was just a friend waiting to be met.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Hughey; daughters: Linda Barnes and husband Danny, Tish Wickliffe and husband Johnny, and Libby Pleiner and husband Sammy; three step-children: Bart and Anne Boudreaux, Martin and Ana Hughey and Harris and Cheryl Hughey; eleven grandchildren: six great-grandchildren and a host of friends and other family members.

She is preceded in death by her parents

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the Myrtle Cemetery of Ennis with Don Griffith officiating. Pallbearers will be Danny Barnes, Johnny Wickliffe, Sammy Pleiner, Corey Barnes, Chris Wickliffe, Chris Reynolds, Eric Dowdle, Martin Hughey and Bart Boudreaux. Services are under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
