Joann Gilmore Hart, 84, passed into the arms of Jesus with her family by her side on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, in Ennis, Texas.
Joann was born on March 13, 1931, to Clyde C. and Josie L. (Lusk) Gilmore. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1948. She went on to attend Texas Women’s University. On November 26, 1955, she married James L. Hart and they made their home in Ennis.
Joann worked for Ennis State bank as a teller, for Lone Star Gas as a customer services representative and for Landmark Saving and Loan as a loan officer until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Ennis. She enjoyed fishing, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.
Joann was a vibrant person who loved being around people and her memory will be carried on by all those who were blessed to meet her, but her memory will be cherished most by her family including her three children: Susan Hart of Denton, Stephanie McCray and husband David of Red Oak, and Jim Hart and wife Debbie of Ennis; grandchildren: Brittany Redd and husband Brett, Valerie Walker and husband John, Blaire Curry and husband Brandon, Mitchell McCray and wife Jay and Ethan Hart Lyons; great-grandchildren: Preston and Peyton Redd, Mason and Madi Kay Curry and Colton Walker; twin sister, Jean Hart; cousin, Betty Hart; along with numerous nieces and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, James L. Hart, on October 30, 2003.
Visitation will be on Monday, July 6, from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
Private graveside services will be held in Myrtle Cemetery of Ennis under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. Special thank you to Sally Medlin and Rolene Cox for their years of friendship and thoughtfulness.
