Clik here to view.Alvin V. Kubin, age 79, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home in Ennis, surrounded by his family on January 11, 2013. He was born on October 19, 1933 in Ennis to John F. and Rosie (Zajic) Kubin. He was married to Geraldine Kriska on July 31, 1959. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Alvin loved doing yard work, gardening, working at the farm and traveling. He was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and the Golden Crusaders. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Geraldine; children, Karen Gist and her husband Dwayne, Michael Kubin, Julie Ryan and her husband Harter, and Kristi Vitek and her husband Mark; grandchildren, Gillian Ryan and Griffin Ryan; sisters, Wilma Kasper, Ardrie Honza, Adail Parma, and Geraldine Nekuza; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosie Kubin; brother, John Kubin; and sisters, Mildred Hubacek and Vlasta Knize. The family received friends Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M. with a Rosary at 7 P.M. in Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Chapel in Ennis, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 A.M. Monday, January 14, 2013 at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church in Ennis with Father John Dick as Celebrant. Interment followed at St. Joseph Cemetery.
