Gary Spurck, Sr., 67, passed away in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, May 14, 2015.
Gary was born in Houston, Texas on July 10, 1947 to Adam Edward and Norma Lee (Barker) Spurck. He grew up in Spring, Texas and graduated from Spring High School in 1964. On July 18, 1981 he married Peggy Blackwood and they made their home in Houston before moving to Bardwell in 1986. He served his country proudly in the United State Navy in Vietnam as a Radio Operator.
He worked for National Fence Company as a supervisor, for Ennis Transportation as a long haul driver and for Leggett and Platt as a machine operator before retiring in 2000. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He will be remembered by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will be cherished most by his family including his wife, Peggy B. Spurck; son, Gary O. Spurck, Jr.; step-sons: Greg Swonke and Tim Swonke; his daughters: Sara Clayton and Nori Rhodes; seven grandchildren: one great-grandchild and one sister, Carmen Bailey. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis.
A Celebration of his life will take place on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis.
