Bettie Carolyn Hodges Rodriguez

Bettie Carolyn Hodges Rodriguez, 73, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 6, 2015, in Dallas, Texas.
Bettie was born in Dardanelle, Arkansas on June 25, 1941, to Ray Oliver and Edna Audrey (Welcher) Hodges. She grew up in Ola, Ark., and graduated from Ola High School in 1959. She went on to attend Southwestern Bible Institute of Waxahachie, Texas. She graduated with a degree in Nursing in 1961. On Sept. 16, 1962, she married Eulalio “Carlos” Rodriguez and they made their home originally in Ennis. They lived in several metroplex cities before settling in Waxahachie with her husband of over 50 years and their dog Joe Bob.
Bettie worked as an LVN for over 20 years in several different hospitals and nursing homes. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed gardening and oil painting.
Her memory will be carried on by all who knew her especially those who loved her most including her husband, Eulalio “Carlos” Rodriguez; daughters: Dena Rodriguez Marshall and husband Stephen, and Melinda Rodriguez Pluenneke and husband Jason; grandchildren: Garrett and Mariah Marshall, and Joshua and Daniel Pluenneke; brothers: Bobby Ray “Bob” Hodges, Carroll Gene Hodges, and Robert Wayne Hodges; sister, Patricia Ann Wright; along with a host of other family and friends.
She goes home to greet her parents, Ray Oliver and Edna Audrey Hodges, and a brother, Billy Bratcher.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 9, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will take place on Friday, April 10, at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
