Joseph Dewey (Pudge) Spillers

Joseph Dewey (Pudge) Spillers, born July 30, 1937, in Galveston, Texas, died April 5, 2015, in Charlton Methodist Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Dan Huddleston; one daughter ,Jane Huddleston; one brother, Bobby Spillers; and one sister, Sue Gray.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Annette D Spillers; daughters: Sherrie Farrell, Judy Lese, and Penny Morris; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and one sister, Janice Meriweather.
After retiring from 30 years with SW Bell, he worked for B&C Parts and Ford Motor in Ennis. He was an avid race car owner and fan, member of the local Masonic Lodge, where he worked his way up to and proudly served as Worshipful Master in 1993. He was an army veteran of four years with honorable discharge.
Viewing will be held Wednesday, April 8, 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 9, at 1 p.m. at Grace Temple Baptist Church, 509 E. Brown St, Ennis. Graveside servicewill follow at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. For more info, go to website www.restlandfurnelhome.com.
