Wilma E. Kasper, 93, passed away peacefully in Ennis, Texas, on Monday, March 23, 2015, after a long productive life.
Wilma was born in Ennis on Aug. 16, 1921, to John F. and Rosie (Zajic) Kubin. She grew up in Ennis and attended school here. On Jan. 12, 1942, she married Emil “E.W.” Kasper and they made their home in Ennis.
She worked for many years as a seamstress, retiring in 1980 as a supervisor for Donavan and Galvani. She had battled many major health issues and survived to help others with their health issues. She was an active person who loved life and independence, continuing to drive until into her 90’s. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, and a past member of the Altar Society. Her main joy was her family but she was an excellent cook and spent many hours enjoying working to make her yard just right.
Her memory will be carried on by all those who knew and loved her, especially her daughter, Linda Young and husband N.E. “Rod”; grandchildren: Bradley Young and Bryce Young; great-grandchildren: Rylie and Harlie; sisters: Ardrie Honza, Adail Parma and Geraldine Nekuza; sisters-in-law: Toni Kubin and Geraldine Kubin; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Rosie Kubin; her husband, E.W. Kasper; one infant daughter, Diane Kasper; brothers, John Kubin and Alvin Kubin; and sisters: Mildred Hubacek, and Vlaste Knize.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 25, from 6 until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, March 26, at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Deacon Don Griffith as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Layman’s Catholic Cemetery Trust, 806 Paris Street, Ennis, Texas 75119.
