Mattie Lou Hurley, 93, passed away in DeSoto, Texas on Tuesday, December 2, 2014.
Mattie Lou was born to Charlie and Bessie (Clay) Lasater on January 30, 1921. She grew up in Wills Point, Texas and graduated from Wills Point High School. On January 7, 1940 she married Milton Hurley, Sr. and they made their home in Wills Point before moving to Ennis.
She worked for Royal Park Fashions and Donavan-Galvante for over twenty years as a seamstress. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Ennis. She enjoyed quilting, crochet and gardening.
Mattie Lou is survived by one son, Milton Hurley, Jr. and wife, Linda; two grandchildren: Michael and Julie Hurley.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Milton Hurley, Sr. on April 18, 2009, seven brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will take place on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with Rev. Darrell Nelson officiating. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
