John W. Gray, 84, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Monday, November 3, 2014.
John was born in Meridian, Oklahoma on October 21, 1930 to Jesse Wilbur and Melissa (Schrivner) Gray. He grew up in Oklahoma and went to school there. On October 6, 1950 he married Viola Marie Bush and they made their home in Texas and Oklahoma moving to Bristol in 1991.
He worked as a carpenter in the construction of new homes. He was a Baptist. He enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his five daughters: Shirley Annette Richardson, Sandra Jean Williams, Elizabeth Ann Richardson, Daana Marie Nyaidho and Cassie Laverne Miller; two sons: James Sheldon Gray and John William Gray, Jr.; twenty grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Viola Marie Gray, daughter, Beverly Dawn McClain and one grandson, Steven Wayne Richardson.
A private service will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2014.
