Albin Frank Vrana, age 80 of Rowlett, Texas passed away October 6, 2014.
He was born August 26, 1934 in Ennis, Texas to Joseph and Annie (Faraizl) Vrana. Albin graduated from St. John’s High School in Ennis.
His biggest joys in life were his family and grandkids. He also enjoyed woodcrafting, coaching softball and polka dancing.
Albin was a longtime member of St. Pius X Parish and currently a member of St. Michael Parish. He was a member of SPJST Lodge #84 in Dallas, Texas where he played for the fast pitch softball team.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Pauline (Valigura) Vrana; sons, Michael Vrana and wife Karen; Mark Vrana and wife Pam; Greg Vrana and wife Tammy; and Bryan Vrana; daughters, Teresa McCoy and husband Steve; Kim Vrana and husband Tommy Yates; and Laura Stoecklin; 18 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Vrana; sisters, Bernice Rejcek and Margaret Vitovsky. He was preceded in death by daughter Melinda Yates and brother George Vrana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 at 12:30 PM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 950 Trails Parkway, Garland, TX 75043. A vigil will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM with Rosary at 7:00 PM on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rowlett Chapel.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association.
